A recent study by Harvard researchers has shed light on the evolutionary history of tardigrades, also known as “water bears.” By examining a piece of Canadian amber from the 1960s, they identified a known fossil species, Beorn leggi, and discovered a new species named Aerobius dactylus. This research enhances our understanding of these resilient micro-animals, which coexisted with dinosaurs during the Cretaceous Period.
